A Boutique Property, a Precise Brief
Fushifaru is a boutique resort that combines Maldivian authenticity with modern comfort. Unlike larger mega-resorts, boutique properties have a different set of requirements — equipment must be right-sized for lower volumes while maintaining the same quality and reliability standards. Over-specifying wastes space and capital; under-specifying creates operational bottlenecks that directly affect guest experience.
Tailored Equipment Selection
GTS worked closely with the Fushifaru team to specify a laundry setup that matched the property's scale and positioning:
- Equipment capacity matched to projected occupancy rates and linen par levels
- Compact layout design to maximise the available laundry space
- Energy-efficient equipment selection to minimise the property's operational costs
- Complete accessory and chemical dosing systems for consistent wash quality
Delivery and Commissioning
The project spanned 2016 into 2017, aligning with Fushifaru's construction and pre-opening schedule. GTS coordinated equipment delivery to the remote Lhaviyani Atoll location, installed the full laundry line and commissioned every machine to manufacturer specifications.
Staff training was delivered on-site, ensuring the resort's laundry team could operate and maintain the equipment independently from day one of operations.
Boutique resorts need partners who understand that smaller scale doesn't mean lower standards — it means more precision. The equipment must be exactly right, because there's no redundancy to fall back on.
Ready for Guests
When Fushifaru opened its doors, the laundry facility was fully operational, tested and staff-ready. The resort has since established itself as one of the Maldives' most highly rated boutique properties — and a well-running back-of-house operation is part of what makes that possible.
